Schools In Dubuque
If you’re moving to Dubuque with your family and have school age children, you can rest easy about their education. Dubuque community has an excellent public school system, as well as a high respected Catholic school system, and a Lutheran elementary school. Dubuque's public school system was ranked #7 out of 2,200 school districts nationwide by one magazine. They also have three private colleges, a community college with two campuses, and a Bible college.
There are also a number of certified day cares in the area, that can take care of children from newborn to pre-school.
Primary Education (K-12)
The Dubuque Community School District offers K-12 education through its 11 elementary schools, three junior high schools, and three high schools. Dubuque also offers two private school systems accredited by the State of Iowa. Holy Family Catholic Schools offers K-12 education at four elementary schools, one K-5 Spanish Immersion Program, a middle school, and a high school. The Dubuque Lutheran School offers K-5 education at it’s one elementary school.
Dubuque boasts three private, liberal arts colleges offering a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Loras College ranked 13th by Forbes magazine for Midwest regional universities. Clarke College ranked 14th in the Midwest on the list of Best Regional Colleges by US News and World Report. The University of Dubuque offers a Theological seminary, as well as a campus that has seen large growth over the last decade. Dubuque has two more community colleges and a Bible College.
