Activities and Events in Dubuque
If you’re moving to Dubuque and want to get to know the community, then you’ll find plenty of festivals and events in the area in which to meet people.
From festivals that celebrate different cultures to outdoor concerts to activities that celebrate the cities heritage there is a diverse amount of activities available.
Dubuque and All That Jazz occurs once a month during the summer and takes place under one of the cities i
cons, the Town Clock. While jazz bands play you can have a few beers and eat some great food from local vendors. For a different type of music take in Summer’s Last Blast which features a half dozen rock bands playing at the same venue over two days.
For those looking for something with a little culture then celebrate Irish at the Hooley or German traditions at Oktoberfest. America is celebrated every July 3 when thousands gather along the Mississippi River to watch fireworks, while hundreds watch from boats on the river. Dubuquefest celebrates artists and craftsman in Dubuque over a three-day weekend, while at night music artists entertain partygoers.
Food is celebrated at the Taste of Dubuque, while every Saturday morning during the spring and summer the Farmer’s Market offers home grown products from area farms and produce companies. The Catfish Festival has a fish fry, in addition to outdoor music and activities.
